When youll see a note on that line youll know that the note F under middle C should be played on the keyboard.
Piano bass clef notes. How to read bass clef piano notes. The bass clef stave system is made up of 5 horizontal lines. Just like notes for the right hand bass clef notes can either sit on the line line note or in the spaces between two lines space note.
If you look at the note chart below you will see that middle C is a line note. The note 1 below middle C which is B is a space note. On piano notes of the bass clef are normally played with the left hand.
To put this all into perspective lets talk briefly about the treble clef. The line notes for the treble clef are E-G-B-D-F while the space notes are F-A-C-E. Its clear to see that its the clef that tells you what notes the lines and spaces of the musical staff correspond to.

It reminds of letter F. Can you see it. The F clef has two dots.
The dots point at the second line from above. When youll see a note on that line youll know that the note F under middle C should be played on the keyboard. The bass clefs two dots surround the staff line that represents the note F.
The bass clef looks like a stylized F use your imagination. You can call the bass clef the F clef or just think of it as a stylized B the dots are the humps for bass. The bass clef doesnt surround the F just below the treble clef G.
Notice that in the Bass clef there is the same C that you saw represented in the Treble clef Central C. Its a meeting place. As this clef shows the lowest notes on the piano it represents what you should play with your left hand while the treble clef shows what you should play with your right hand.

The next space is a C and so on until you get back to another A on the top line. The bass clef is also called the F clef. The fourth line of the bass clef is the F line One reason that it is called the F clef is because of the two dots placed on either side of the F line.
Once you know this line it is very easy to figure out the other notes of the bass clef. You will be able to read music written for piano bass guitar and even cello. Look at the diagram above this shows what is often referred to as the Grand Staff the combination of Treble Clef and Bass Clef.
By learning Treble and Bass Clef you can see the huge range of notes that you will be able to read. Draw a bass clef at the beginning of the staff and write the letter name of each note. Draw the bass clef at the beginning of the staff and then draw the notes indicated.
If a note can be drawn in more than one place on the staff choose which one you want to draw. The bass clef On the piano the bass clef contains lower-pitched notes the ones below middle C including all the notes you play with your left hand. Another name for the bass clef is the F clef.
The curly top of the clef partly encircles where the F note is on the staff and it has two dots that surround the F note line. Each clef is made up of line and spaces. Each line and space represents a note on the scale.
While each clef has five lines and four spaces the notes on each clef are different. The bottom line of the treble clef is an E note and the top line note is an F. The bottom line on the bass clef is a G and top line is A.
The bass clef symbol looks like a backwards C with two dots. All of the bass clef notes are to be played with the left hand. The bass clef can also be called the F clef.
This is because if you look closely at the two dots that make up the bass clef symbol you will see that the two dots fall on an F note. Where Are Bass Notes. The bass clef is mainly for notes from middle C and lower.
So this is for the left hand on the piano. This is however not a rule. You can display notes on a bass clef that are higher than middle C.
